Italianisimo... Recipe!

Okay, so it has been A WHILE since I post a recipe, I have been too busy EATING which you will see the consecuences on my future posts, but back to the subject, I always forget to take pictures of what I am cooking and always remember about my intent to post AFTER the plate is empty and licked...(ok so I am exaggerating a bit here)
This time was the exception.
Here is one of my recipes to make a delicious italian dish.
We called them Sorrentinos, but in the U.S. I haven't seen this word anywhere, so basically you can call them huge tortellinis.
I bet a few of my italian fellow bloggers will correct me...
I learned to do this when I lived in Argentina for a few years and my mother in law is half Italian, so she used to make EVERYTHING from scratch...especially pastas and pastries...YUM!
It's really easy..but of course it takes time, so make sure there is food in your stomach while doing this to prevent eating the stuffing!!!
  1.  Buy the flour made rounds a.k.a as "plantillas", the ones you would buy to make an oven baked pastry. These are usually on the hispanic or latin aisles at your local supermarket. If your supermarket does not have one of these aisles, then most probably you are not going to even enjoy this dish anyways...jk
  2. Stretch the "plantilla" a little bit so it's not as stiff and you can work with it better
  3. You should have the stuffing for your "sorrentinos" prepared and ready to go.You should try the one I use which is made of Ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese cut in small pieces, cooking ham in tiny pieces, basil leaves and chopped walnuts.Salt and pepper to taste, and when the mixture is tasty enough to eat it alone, you know is ready.
  4. put a small teaspoon of the mix in the center of the "plantilla"
  5. dab your finger in some water and pass it along the border of the "plantilla" as if it were glue.
  6. fold the "plantilla" and glue both sides together by pressing them with your index finger...I guess that would be the one you use the most to point at people...yeah u know the one I'm talking about! that finger is strong man!
  7. this is the way it should look..like a half moon..or something like it...u get the idea!
  8. hopefully you didn't use your finger too hard cause this is the step where you need that gorgeous "sorrentino" in your hand so you can do the last fold!! You basically take the two ends and make them meet. You can add a dab of water so it will glue better.
  9. and press firmly...making sure they are glued..
  10. isn't that a BEAUTY?? wait until you eat them!!
When you finish doing the quantity of "sorrentinos" that you want, you put them in the freezer until they harden. make sure that none of them are touching each other so they don't stick together. After they harden in the freezer, you can put them all in a bag, (at this point they won't stick to each other anymore) and you can boil them whenever you want to eat something delicious but are too lazy to prepare something. You will know when they are ready to serve when the start floating...around 7 minutes or so..
You can use any sauce to go with it but these are so scrumptious that I eat them with a little bit of butter, drizzle extra virgin olive oil, salt and some parmesan cheese...
simple, classic but it will allow me to savour the yummy filling.
Bon Appetit!!!

Sunny Day

I really dont know how to dress anymore in this city...
Sometimes its hot as in Summer and other times there is a chilly breeze reminding me that Christmas is just around the corner.
But hey, I am always up for some relaxed, flowy garments such as this cute top and some sandals.
Ah well, I always wear whatever the hell I want anyways.
I love fashion and trends but ultimately, it's all about what I like...period.
Hasta luego gitanas!

On my days off I love to go thrift shopping in a small gorgeous store where there is a huge selection of clothes, shoes and just about everything!!
These shoes were very hard to miss but I was immediately drawn to them. I kinda like to have shoes that make an outfit pop!!
I also bought the shirt, which I LOVE!
I give thanks for Thrift stores...I really do!
Happy weekend!

Zebra

FINALLY!!!
I decided to try one of the DIY that I saw in one of my favorite blogs Aqui a couple of months ago, and since I am not gifted in craftmanship I usually never "go for it" since I know ahead of time I will lose precious time and money...but, this DIY seemed pretty easy even for dummies like me...
Basically to make this fabric necklace you need a chain, fabric of your choice cut in long stripes...
I think it came out pretty awesome considering my talent limitations...
I chose a zebra print since its more versatile.
What do you think??

OFF

This week has been one of those weeks that everything looks blurry, dark, endless and sad...I feel blue.
I am at a point in my life where I have let work interfere with my personal life, my dreams, my time...again, MY LIFE.
The worst part of it all is that, my job is not a "career" so it makes me feel much more worse....
Negative people at work trying to bring me down, my possibilities of growth in this Company are cero to none, and supervisors only focus on what you don't do...
I do not have time to do the things I love, to enjoy my marriage and frankly its getting to a point of no return.
Sometimes I do not want to get out of bed...and sleeping has become much more pleasurable than it should, really.
I need to make a decision...fast. May God help me.
What to do in days like these??
Should you hide below the blankets and close your eyes attempting to be unconcious only to find yourself tossing and turning? Or should you just jump out of bed and puts loads of makeup to hide the pain, only to find yourself dragging your soul on the floor with every step you take?
What to do...turn the switch OFF.

Happy 49 Demi!

Yes! I must admit she looks absolutely stunning for a 49 yr old, but lets not forget and lets start to admit, ( for our mental sake and health!) she has done several procedures to look this great and continues to do so...not that this is wrong or anything but, people tend to talk about her as if she has aged so graciously and naturally....which simply she hasn't. Well not the "naturally " part of it anyhow....oh well, Happy Birthday to you Demi, thanks for making some of us believe this goodlookin stuff comes to those who work hard at the gym and dont have enough money for beauty treatments or procedures like you...ejem...whatever.
PS....we cant wait for you to turn 50 already! ;)))
can't a gal be jealous one time??? geeezzz...

This sweater dress was a present from my mom and I thought it was a good idea to use it on top of a long sleeve sweater shirt and some boots...
some pearls would just do the trick! what do u think?
BTW I just noticed i reached 100 followers!! yey!
A giveaway is on the way!
